Meet our Principal
I am Jannie Muller and have been a faithful member of Brackenfell High School staff for 29 years and since January 2017, I am the 5th principal of Brackieland.
In January 1989, I started at this school as a newly-wed and fresh out of the army.
Under the capable tutelage of my Life Science subject head, Ms Eda Visser, and the principal, Mr Ossie Theron, I was allowed to develop and grow in my profession. I have also played a role on the sport fields since I am passionate about sport. Later, I was promoted to HOD and in 2006 I was appointed as the Vice-Principal : Sport.
With Mr Jan Mouton’s retirement in 2011, I was appointed as the new Deputy Principal.
I was privileged to work in conjunction with Mr Pretorius and Mr Koopman. I have learned so much and have gained a lot of experience. Mr Pretorius’s leadership led us to new heights and we attained many successes.
The last 10 years, as part of the school management team, have given me the opportunity to be part of the development and success of Brackenfell High School.
I wish to use this opportunity, to thank Mr Pretorius and the governing council for their support and trust in me. I am grateful and humbled to replace Mr Pretorius as principal in 2017. The following scripture, I will hold fast in my heart : “Be strong….be courageous….do not look around anxiously, because I am your God.”
One of my goals for next year is to further improve the discipline of our school and strengthen the value system to enable us to be more respectful towards one another.
With the capable and supportive vice-principals, Ms S Potgieter and Mr Benadie and the co-operation of the school management team, I am looking forward to leading Brackenfell High School to become a beacon for others to follow.
